The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has strongly denied allegations that it demands money from players in exchange for selection to the Black Stars, describing the claims as false, malicious, and damaging to the reputation of the country’s football governing body.

In a statement, the GFA dismissed reports suggesting that players are required to pay for national team call-ups, insisting that player selection is based on merit, performance, and the technical judgment of the coaching staff.

The Association said the allegations have the potential to undermine public confidence in Ghanaian football and tarnish the integrity of the Black Stars. It stressed that it remains committed to transparency, fairness, and professionalism in the management of the national teams.

The GFA also announced its intention to pursue legal action against individuals or entities responsible for making or publishing the allegations. According to the Association, it will take all necessary legal steps to protect its reputation and ensure accountability for what it described as defamatory claims.

The allegations have generated widespread discussion among football fans and stakeholders, with many calling for evidence to support the claims while others have urged due process and fairness.

As the matter develops, the GFA maintains that no player is required to pay for an opportunity to represent Ghana at the international level and says it will continue to defend the integrity of its selection process through the appropriate legal channels.
