The Chartered Institute of Marketing, Ghana (CIMG) has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening collaboration with the Civil Service following a courtesy call on the Head of the Civil Service, Dr. Evans Aggrey-Darkoh.

The meeting, held on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, focused on enhancing institutional cooperation and promoting professional membership within the Civil Service.

Speaking during the visit, the Chief Executive Officer of CIMG, Mr. Kwabena Agyekum, said the Chartered Institute of Marketing, Ghana Act, 2020 (Act 1021) establishes CIMG as the sole professional body mandated to regulate, promote, and maintain standards in marketing, commercial practice, and strategic communications in Ghana.

According to him, a stronger partnership with the Civil Service would help build the professional capacity of public servants while supporting the effective implementation of government policies and programmes.

Dr. Aggrey-Darkoh welcomed the CIMG delegation and underscored the importance of collaboration between public institutions and the private sector. He described such partnerships as critical to driving sustainable national development.

He noted that stronger institutional partnerships would foster innovation, improve public service delivery, and contribute to Ghana’s socio-economic transformation.

The discussions also explored plans to rebrand the Civil Service and identified strategies to enhance the visibility and public image of both the Civil Service and CIMG at the national and international levels.

As part of the outcomes of the meeting, approval was granted for CIMG to participate in the upcoming Civil Service Week Celebration. The event is expected to provide the Institute with an opportunity to engage Civil Service staff on the importance of professional standards in marketing and strategic communications, and how these contribute to improved public sector performance.

Also present at the meeting were the Chief Director of the Office of the Head of the Civil Service, Mr. Sylvanus Adzornu; the Director of Recruitment, Training and Development (RTD), Dr. Elizabeth Obeng-Yeboah; and other senior officers.
