The Ghana Education Service (GES) has released funds to cover the procurement of perishable food items for Senior High School (SHS) Form 2 and Form 3 students across the country.
In an official correspondence addressed to Regional Directors of Education, GES announced that the funds are intended to cater for the period from 1st March, 2026, to 4th September, 2026.
The Service directed Regional Directors to ensure the funds are made available to the respective schools to support the feeding of students during the stated period.
GES also instructed all heads of beneficiary schools to submit official receipts acknowledging the funds. According to the directive, the receipts must be forwarded to the Director-General of the Ghana Education Service through their respective Regional Accountants for record-keeping and accountability.
The release of the funds is expected to facilitate the timely procurement of perishable food items for students and support the smooth implementation of the school’s feeding programme during the academic period.
