Accra, July 17, 2026 – The Youth Development Department of the Centre for National Culture (CNC), Greater Accra, on Friday morning organized a practical skills training programme aimed at equipping students and young people with entrepreneurial skills during the vacation period.
The training, which commenced at 10:00 a.m. on July 17, 2026, was held at the Centre for National Culture in Greater Accra. Participants received hands-on instruction in the production of liquid soap, bleach, afterwash, and antiseptics.
The programme brought together students from Kinbu Senior High Technical School, La Presbyterian Senior High School, and Danfa Technical Institute, who actively participated in the practical sessions.
Speaking at the event, Mrs. Juliana Adanse Owusu-Nyame, Officer in Charge of the Youth Development Department at the Centre for National Culture, Greater Accra, said the initiative forms part of the department’s commitment to empowering the youth through practical skills development.
According to Mrs. Owusu-Nyame, the programme was organized to help students and young people acquire practical knowledge and skills that would enable them to make a positive impact in their communities wherever they find themselves.
She explained that the training also seeks to equip participants with income-generating skills, enabling them to produce and sell household cleaning and hygiene products to earn money during the vacation period.
Mrs. Owusu-Nyame encouraged participants to take full advantage of the opportunity and apply the skills acquired to create sustainable livelihoods. She noted that practical vocational skills can help reduce youth unemployment and foster self-reliance.
Participants expressed appreciation to the Centre for National Culture for organizing the training, describing it as timely and impactful. They said the knowledge gained would enable them to start small businesses during the vacation while contributing positively to their communities.
The Centre for National Culture, Greater Accra, continues to organize skills development programmes as part of its commitment to empowering young people through practical education, entrepreneurship, and community development.
