A vehicle was completely destroyed by fire at Labone in Accra on Sunday evening, July 5, 2026, prompting a swift response from the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS).

According to the GNFS, the Trade Fair Fire Station received a distress call through the Fire Maintenance Centre (FMC) at 7:11 p.m. Firefighters were dispatched a minute later and arrived at the scene near Aunty Muni Restaurant at 7:22 p.m.

The fire crew, led by Assistant Divisional Officer I (ADO I) Lawrence Lamptey and with the appliance driven by Sub-Officer (SUB/O) Emmanuel Aryee, quickly brought the blaze under control.

Their timely intervention prevented the fire from spreading to nearby vehicles and properties. Despite their efforts, the affected vehicle was completely consumed by the flames before the fire was extinguished.

Fortunately, no injuries or fatalities were recorded in the incident.

The Ghana National Fire Service has launched an investigation to determine the cause of the fire.

The Service continues to urge motorists to regularly inspect their vehicles and promptly report fire emergencies by calling the national emergency number 192 or the Fire Maintenance Centre for immediate assistance.
